If i die my hair black again, will it mak my hair in better condition?

My natural har color is black, I am trying to make my hair grow into its normal hair color, I am also planning on cutting my hair and dyng it black so it can look like my natural hair color. All the other times I died my hair made my hair puffy and thin so if I dye my hair black to make it look like my natural hair color and cutit up to my shoulders will it grow faster?
