Broke up because he needs time to figure his life out? im too perfect for him?

so my boyfriend just broke up with me. we've been dating barely over 2 weeks, but i really thought this was going to last a long time. he just graduated high school and accepted a scholarship for golf at a college 3 hours away. he said that he needs to sort his life out. and that he was so consumed with me that he didnt have time for himself. he also said that im "too perfect" and things like that. he said that this break up was harder for him to do then even with the girl he dated for two years. and that he has never had feelings for someone like this before. i just dont get why he is breaking up with me then. he said that im his best friend and he still wants to hangout with me bc im his favorite person to hangout with, but just as friends for now. i honestly dont think i can do that. my sister told me that if he truely feels the way he told me, that he wouldnt be able to stay away for too long. im just trying to mak sense of this situation. it was so random. he even said that absolutely nothing has gone wrong in our relationship. thats why i dont understand why he is doing this. im pretty sure its safe to say that im confused.
